Invigorate Seed is an exciting young band from Jorhat, Assam that writes progressive/metalcore music packed to the brim with a thundering intensity. Oh, and they're all still teenagers. They have released their first official single, titled 'Vanity', with RSJ (stream). Learn more about them below:
Bibhash Buragohain, the lead-guitarist of Invigorate Seed, is all of 18 years of age, and he started the band sometime last year. It progressed, as is often the story, from a simple bedroom project into a full-fledged band. The guys play an exciting blend of progressive metal and metalcore, and are in the process of writing and recording an EP. ‘Vanity’, their first single (listen below), was tracked by Bibhash at home, and was then sent over to Siddhant Das at Studio Dreamcatcher in Guwahati, who mixed and mastered the final song.
The guys in Invigorate Seed have taken a year off to concentrate on music. The band is essentially based in Jorhat, Assam, but their drummer, Reeshav Gohain, lives in Dibrugarh. So, ever so often, they pack up all their stuff, travel the 300 km or so to Dibrugarh, and spend a good week there, staying at the drummer’s house and jamming day and night, writing new music.
“Jorhat doesn’t really have a good metal scene, especially when you compare it to Guwahati. It’s been very difficult for us – we’ve had to struggle hard – when it comes to our family, or the society here...There aren’t even any proper jam pads here,” says Bibhash. The love for the kind of music they’re doing motivated them to continue, while a fantastic response from audiences at the few gigs they’ve played has served as a great tool of encouragement.
‘Vanity’ is the first official release by Invigorate Seed, and will most likely also feature on the EP that they’re currently working on. The track, a little over four minutes in length, utilizes a strong rhythmic core and has a power-packed vocal delivery, with lyrics that talk of vengeance and aggression. The intensity to the densely structured patterns that shift in and out of the mix allow for a very tight progressive vibe to the song, showcasing an interesting and quite mature sound for a very young band. Watch out for these guys.
