Formed about three years ago, Within Ceres are among the few metal bands in Goa and guitarist Odin de Sa says the intention was very much to have a steady footing. “The main goal was to have an elite metal band in Goa. We played a few competitions and had really good responses and since then, we’ve been giving it all we have.”
Competing across the country, the band released their debut single ‘State of Emergency’ in 2016, in what remained a busy year. But since then, there’s been a bit of downtime, as Odin – the guitarist, principal songwriter and producer in the band – prepped their debut full-length album, Skyless.
He says about the album, “It consists of 7 tracks. We’ll be having guests from the metal scene featuring on some of the tracks. The album will be very diverse, ranging from sounds like industrial - djent to atmospheric and symphonic metal. The album is very experimental.”
After ‘State of Emergency’, the second taste of the album arrives with ‘Flipknot’, which releases on July 8th. Odin details the band’s plans ahead, “The album release will span out for three to four months. There will be a couple of double releases in August and September.”
