The Hobos To Release Debut Album

Jun 30, 02:06pm

Kolkata's resident Indian rock outfit The Hobos have geared up for the launch gig of their debut self titled album, on July 1 at Someplace Else.

Kolkata-based Indian rock band The Hobos are readying up for their debut album's launch gig on July 1, at Someplace Else in Kolkata. Emerging a decade ago - jamming and playing at local pubs - The Hobos have been on the rounds, winning competitions, highlighting festivals, and making impressions wherever they go. The band's self-titled debut album was recorded at the Green Digital Studio via Rooh Music, compiling eight of The Hobos' best songs. "There were a lot people who asked us: Where's your album?" vocalist Souvik Chakravarti tells us, "Prior to this most of our songs were online and on our website, so we finally decided to put it all in to one album for the audience."

Coming back from hanging low on the gig radar, the band plans on making it big with the launch gig for The Hobos. "I sincerely hope that people give us a listen, we have barely played any gigs in the last two years." Souvik says, "So the people who've missed out on us, all the college kids who haven't heard us, will now have a chance to hear us."
