The debut edition of the first jazz festival to come from Chndigarh is set to kick off today, from December 7 - 9. Bringing together a host of amazing musicians and jazz aficionados, the three day festival hopes to give jazz a fresh set of roots.

The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, have begun calling in registrations from semi-professional bands across the country for their annual cultural fest, Pravega's Battle of the Bands to be held from January 30 to February 1, 2015.

The Goa International Jazz Festival is set to bring together a host of progressive and innovative jazz-inclined musicians from India, France, Canada, Switzerland, USA, UK, Germany, and Brazil; set to be held from November 28 to 30 at Baywatch Resorts in Colva, South Goa.  

The annucal cutural festival of IIM Bangalore, Unmaad, is set to be launched today at the campus, with the festival to be held from January 30 to February 1. The launch for the nineteenth edition of the festival will feature performance by prominent artists from Indian music scene.

Marking a truly tragic day for the worl of music, Shri Uppalapu Srinivas - also known as 'Mandolin Srinivas' - passed away today, September 19, due to a liver transplant failure at a hospital in Chennai.
