ADITYA VARMA
Mumbai based two-man Satanic black metal band Solar Deity have released their third EP, called Devil Worship. The EP is 25 minutes long, and consists of three songs, each of which boasts ominous riffs and often-sinister soundscapes complementing the trademark gruffness of black metal vocals. The band is the creation of Aditya Mehta (Guitars/Vocals) and Animesh ‘Asmo’ Das (Bass). Speaking about the release, front-man Mehta said, “Our vision is to create powerful music while staying very much within the realm of black metal. Devil Worship is the follow-up to The Darkness Of Being, the sequel to In The Name Of Satan, and the second chapter of Solar Deity’s ‘Satan’ trilogy.
“I was part of Exhumation before this for about seven or eight years, and there wasn’t anything happening with the band and I was getting frustrated,” he said. “About three or four years back, I started thinking about forming a black metal band, so I got my drummer from Exhumation and we just went ahead and recorded an EP.”
The album is released under Nephalist Recordings, with artwork by label owner and band manager Aakash Dwivedi, produced by Ashwin Shriyan at Mindmap Productions, and mastered by Daniel Kenneth Rego.
