It seems the Boomarang boys from Aizawl have been sufficiently busy in the recent past. Booma, their guitarist, gives us an exclusive on the music, a new album, and most of everything else.
From being a promising act in 2008, noted in a prominet magazine's 'Ten New Acts To Watch Out For' just three or four years ago, to now, the band seems to have come a long way. “We really didn’t expect, especially back then, to reach where we are now, doing shows all over the place. Now we are resting a bit, sharing the magic among ourselves.”
In the meanwhile, Booma is working on a personal project that he likes to call Scavengers of Idyll with a tamed electro-rock sound (more on that later, stay tuned). Though still undecided on the name given to Boomarang’s album-in-progress, they plan to start touring in the country November onwards. Currently, the band seems to be preoccupied with doing shows back home. “The aim is now to establish a bigger fan base at home; because of the predominant Church and Gospel culture here, fewer people understand our music,” he said.
Promoting their album also seems to figure as part of their touring agenda. “We have moved around a lot, going to places as far as Nainital, Bangalore and even Delhi sometimes, though, as of now, things are at an immature stage.” The band plans to start sharing some of their material as soon as they’re out of the oven.
