Last year, we saw all of India flock to Mumbai’s Mehboob Studios for the second edition of music and art showcase gig Johnnie Walker – the Journey for the likes of American fusion band Snarky Puppy and electronic music pioneer Bonobo perform a live set.
On December 12, the festival ups the ante with three top artists from across the world making their India debut – American post-rock pioneers Explosions in the Sky, ambient/electronic music artist Tycho and a headline set by legendary Italian electronic music producer Giorgio Moroder. While Explosions in the Sky will provide enough cheer for the growing community of post-rock fans, Tycho’s confirmation comes after the musician, known as Scott Hansen, announced on Twitter in September that they will head to India in December.
The 75-year-old electronic music pioneer and Grammy-winning artist Giorgio Moroder will be in India promoting his album Déjà vu, his first album in 30 years which featured collaborations with the likes of Sia, Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue and more.
The Journey will also feature theatre and film showcases, which are being confirmed.
Tickets for the day-long festival are on sale, with courtyard passes to access all music acts going for Rs 3,000. Buy tickets here.
