For the last three years, Goa has been trying to establish itself as a new home for jazz lovers. Fair enough, because who wouldn’t like to see jazz by the shore? The third edition of the Goa International Jazz Live Festival takes place between November 27 and 29, featuring artists from 10 different countries including India.
The three-day festival this year includes performances by Mezcal Jazz Unit from France, Aldoc from Ireland, Gabacho Maroconnection from Morocco, fusion/jazz rockers Alex Stuart Quintet from Australia, electro-acoustic jazz act Kekko Fornarelli Trio from Italy, zen-funk/jazz artist Nik Bartsch's Ronin from Switzerland and several more at the Stone Water Eco Resort in Bogmalo, Goa. Indian acts representing the jazz scene include Delhi’s The Jass B’stards and vocalist Vivienne Pocha, who will kick off the festival’s proceedings on day one with guitarist Sanjay Divecha, drummer Adrian D’Souza and bassist Karl Peters.
While the first year was inaugurated with performances by Erik Truffaz Quarter, HFT and Plaistow, the 2014 edition of the festival included headline sets by Louiz Banks Trio and Malcolm Braff.
