EDM Appreciation 101 takes on a new meaning this Friday, October 25, as British electronica group The Freestylers touch down in India to play at Kitty Su, the Lalit Hotel, New Delhi. DJs and producers Matt Cantor and Aston Harvey, who’ve been playing together as The Freestylers for almost two decades, have achieved considerable success in the bass music world, and have managed to reinvent and redefine their sound time and again.
They will be manning the console at the gig, presented by NME, on October 25. It will be their first ever performance in India, and they’re playing the gig in support of their new album, called The Coming Storm.
The Freestylers, who started off back in ’96, are known for their infectious energy live, regardless of whether they’re playing a DJ set or with an accompanying live band. They’ve maintained a rebellious approach to music production, switching sounds and retaining an element of freshness throughout their career – from breakbeat to dubstep to drumstep to just pounding bass sounds, they have it all in their arsenal. They’ve performed all across the globe, including a gig at the iconic Glastonbury Festival, and fans have a chance to witness this brilliant act live and in their element, here in India.
