Ex-Slipknot Drummer Joey Jordison Has Passed Away

Jul 28, 07:29am

He was 46.
According to a post from his family, drummer Joey Jordison passed peacefully in his sleep yesterday. Known primarily as a founding member and longtime drummer of metal legends Slipknot, he was known to be battling health issues that he seemed to have recently recovered from. His long-spanning career and fluid style both thrilled and inspired many a millennial to pick up the instrument or just learn to rock out and have a good time. In a time where Slipknot was the perfect sound for the 2000s while also being a kick in the gut for all of us who had got used to the drier, less aggressive sounds of the preceding decade, Joey's fury behind the kit was something both organic and sharp at the same time. He will be dearly missed by the community and by fans.

Rest in peace.
