RSJ Live Nites To Be Held On May 3

May 01, 01:22pm

The latest edition of RSJ Live Nites is to be held on May 3 at the Blue Frog in Mumbai, featuring performances by Mumbai-based indie electronica act Shaa’ir And Func, space rock/electronica band Gumbal, ambient electro-rock act Don Bhat+Passenger Revelator, and dance electronica artist Sandunes.

RSJ is back with an electrifying line-up for the upcoming edition of Live Nites, to be held at the Blue Frog in Mumbai on May 3. Mumbai-based indie electronica act Shaa’ir And Func, space rock/electronica band Gumbal, ambient electro-rock act Don Bhat+Passenger Revelator, and dance electronica artist Sandunes, will be administering their dose of sine waves to the eager Mumbai crowd this Sunday. “Shaa’ir and Func haven’t gigged in Bombay in an exceptionally long time,” frontlady Shaa’ir a.k.a. Monica Dogra told us. “For a lot of reasons this will be a homecoming. RSJ hosted some of our first ever gigs in India, and I really cannot wait.”

“I’m excited because I’m going to be calling on a few guests to come and jam with me on the third,” said guitarist Donn Bhat. “I’m going to be jamming with Tejas on a track and Saroj is also going to come up for a track, which is the first time I am going to be doing that. I am also going to get to hear some of the other acts, so I’m really excited.” Apart from the epic line-up, artists like Donn Bhat and Gumbal will also be playing songs off of their upcoming records. Donn Bhat will incorporate a few songs from his latest EP, Connected, featuring a few interesting collaborations. While, electro-rockers Gumbal sound excited to be playing their debut gig as a full-fledged band, and will be playing songs off of their upcoming album slated to release towards the end of the year. “We’re all really excited because first of all, this is going to be our first gig as a band,” Gumbal frontman Arjun Iyer told us. “These are some of the biggest names in the indie electronica scene that we are going to play with. So, I am pretty excited about this. Although, we have moved slightly away from eletronica and more toward space rock, we think it’s a huge platform and we want to put up the best show that we can.”
