A/V duo Aerate Sound made up of producer Joe Panicker and visual artist Naquash known for merging sample driven hip-hop/beat music with immersive Cinematic elements released their debut album “Only For External” via Bangalore based record label and collective Consolidate. The single "Down Baby Down' was launched before the album release with a music video based on the idea of projecting visuals by Naquash, the other half of Aerate Sound.
“I mostly want to attach concepts to my songs and thought it would be cool to play along the lines of the "I wont go Down" phrase. Accordingly, I wrote the verses of the song in a format where we could insert Downs and ups around a central rap verse which had its own individual flow”, says Sumukh aka Smokey The Ghost.
In the album, Aerate Sound employ abstract sonic patterns, beat centric instrumentation, folk samples and field recordings to create a layered soundtrack that transitions effortlessly through disparate sounds, textures, structures and moods. The 9 track album features collaborations with Smokey the Ghost and The Burning Deck.
