Music Basti Announce Applications For Teaching Artists

Jun 24, 02:06pm

Music Basti are calling in applications for 'Teaching Artists' to be a part of their community-based music and media learning project. The applications are open online up till June 30.

One of India’s foremost community-based and media learning project creators, Music Basti, have called in applications for musicians to apply as ‘Teaching Artists’, to work with different groups of children and youth over eight months – August, 2014 to March, 2015 – as part of the Music Basti teaching program. Musicians can apply for the project online, keeping in mind that the last date for applications is June 30.

Having featured musicians like Kailash Kher, Prateek Kuhad, Advaita, Swarathma, and more, in the past as part of the teaching artists team, Music Basti along with the Integrated Development Education Association have been successfully working with at-risk children through the medium of music. The team of 20 teaching artists selected from the application process, will be working with a group of up to fifteen children, over a course of eight months, as an integral part of the project. Applicants are required to be at least eighteen years old, proficient at Hindustani or western vocals and/or a musical instrument - without formal education in music being a criterion. With another week left for applications, we urge all musicians to look forward to being a part of the program.

Apply for the program online.
