The fifth edition of the Rolling Stone Metal Awards, to be held on June 22 at the Blue Frog in Mumbai, has announced it's list of nominees, and their voting lines open till June 20.

India's most prestigious metal award ceremony, the Rolling Stone Metal Awards, is back with its fifth edition to be held on June 22 at the Blue Frog in Mumbai, featuring nominations of some of the most spectacular artists over a more than interesting year in the Indian music scene, and performances by Aizawl's brutal death metal band Third Soveriegn and Mumbai based Reverrse Polarity. The voting lines for the public choice categories, including 'Best Band', 'Best Album', and 'Best Song', are open till June 20 including nominations of bands like Mumbai's symphonic black metal band Cosmic Infusion, Mumbai based Reverrse Polarity, thrash metal band Zygnema, and others. Crowning a particularly exciting year for the Indian metal circuit, Mumbai death metal band Reptillian Death has stolen away seven nominations from within eight nominee categories, along with Bangalore based folk metal band The Down Troddence and Mumbai brutal death grind outfit Gutslit gathering six nominations each.

Some of the nominees of the fifth edition of the RSMA include The Down Troddence drummer Ganesh Radhakrishnan for the 'Best Drummer' category, along with Theorized's Sankalp Narayanan; and many more. Undying Inc bassist Reuben Bhattacharya has been nominated for the 'Best Bassist', he says, "It is always great to be validated, whether it is by an award or by a fan. We just put out a track man and it feels great to be nominated," responding to Undying Inc's 'Ironclad' having been nominated for 'Best Song'. Having previously featured bands like Demonic Resurrection, Scribe, Bhayanak Maut, Eccentric Pendulum, and Skyharbor, the Rolling Stone Metal Awards is India's first and only awards show honoring the best in Indian metal.
