German audio company Sennheiser, in partnership with Amazon, launched the first edition of the Sennheiser Top 50 digital contest inviting independent bands from across the country to apply. The registrations for the contest close on June 11, narrowing down the entries to the Top 50 bands who will be selected to be judged by the panel consisting of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Salim-Sulaiman. Indian music trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy said, “Sennheiser has a 70-year old legacy for powering the performances of the best musicians across the world. True to this legacy of championing music and musicians, Sennheiser has launched the Sennheiser Top 50 music talent hunt which will give every Indian an opportunity to try and reach the pinnacle of musical genius. Music is a powerful medium that can come from the most unexpected places. This one of its kind initiative by Sennheiser opens new doors to a diverse mix of music talent across India. By using digital media to leverage the talent in the country, the company has set a new benchmark for talent hunts.”

Cutting down to brass tax, the winning band will be awarded the latest evolution wireless D1 set up and Sennheiser headphones for the entire team, an endorser deal for two years by Sennheiser, recording sessions at Flying Carpet Productions in Mumbai with Ashish Manchanda, and a chance to meet Sennheiser artists Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Salim Sulaiman.
