Aswekeepsearching and Skrat To Tour Across 5 Cities

Jun 04, 02:52pm

Blue Tree Studios founder and As We Keep Searching frontman, Uddipan Sarmah, has announced the first edition of the 2Stroke tour, featuring As We Keep Searching and Skrat, to be held from June 17 to 21 across Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Hyderabad.

Pune-based experimental post rock band Aswekeepsearching frontman and Bluetree Studios founder, Uddipan Sarmah, recently announced the first edition of the 2Stroke tour by AWKS along with Chennai-based alternative act Skrat. The bands plan on touring across Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bangalore, starting from June 17. “2Stroke is a completely DIY initiative,” Uddipan told us, “It started off with the idea of taking AWKS on a tour across more cities, rather than playing in the same cities again and again. While we were planning this out we also had the idea of trying to arrange tours for other bands.” The 2Stroke tour, Uddipan told us, is to be a recurring project with a second edition already in its planning stages, slated to be held through August this year. “I went ahead with talking to venues about the 2Stroke tour,” Uddipan told us, “And we planned it to always have two acts that will be from different cities. We are not limiting it to particular genres, like both bands having to be of the same or simlar genre. So, right now I am organizing the tour and my friend from Bangalore, Ram, will be supporting the tour financially.”

Aswekeepsearching recently changed their line up to include bassist Bob Alex and drummer Gautam Deb, from Pune-based experimental metal band Noiseware. AWKS also plan on releasing a full length album soon after the first edition of the 2Stroke tour. “We will be recording and releasing an eleven-track album right after the tour.” Uddipan told us, “So, we will definitely be playing a couple of new songs for the tour. So yeah, things seem to be shaping up well.”

Check out the tour details below:

June 17 – Blue Frog, Pune

June 18 – Blue Frog, Mumbai

June 19 – antiSOCIAL, New Delhi

June 20 – Hard Rock Café, Hyderabad
