PCRC Album Launch Tour Announced

Jun 17, 02:24pm

Delhi-based waltz/ballroom jazz/rock ‘n’ roll band Peter Cat Recording Co. have announced tour dates for the launch of their upcoming album, Climax, driving across the country over the next two months before heading over to Europe in August.

Delhi-based waltz/ballroom jazz/rock ‘n’ roll band Peter Cat Recording Co. have announced the tour dates for the launch of their upcoming album, Climax. The band will be driving across the country over the next two months before heading over to Europe in August. “It’s [Climax] a continuation after Sinema,” bassist Rohan Kulshreshtha told us. “This one has a lot more of all four of us as opposed to the last album which was largely Suryakant’s doing. So, this is a more wholsome sound including all of us. The songs are a little more dancey and up tempo.” The Climax tour is a self-funded inititative by the band heading over to a few cities that have been uncharted by the band. “It’s a lot of places that we’ll be going to for the first time,” Rohan told us. “We’ll be going to Calicut, Trivandrum, Cochin, and hopefully Mangalore will also be there along with Ahmedabad and Jaipur. For the last couple of years, between the band, we had been doing mostly the regular places across the country like Bombay, Bangalore, Blue Frog and CounterCulture. Hopefully, this time we’ll run into a couple of eccentric people, I guess.”

PCRC will release the digital and physical copies of the new album on June 21 along with the first album launch gig at SOCIAL in Hauz Khas, New Delhi. “We’re trying to include new sounds and elements,” drummer Karan Singh told us. “Over the past couple of years we’ve been listening to new music, different artists and genres, and subconsciously you end up trying new stuff. We haven’t really thought about these things but Suryakant wrote a couple of songs and we all jammed it out a lot.”
